Windsurfing: La Franqui
Wind Direction: nw
Wind Stength: 25/35
Surf / Sea State: flat

Sea Temperature:
Weather: cloudy with some rain :(
Max Speed: 32.69 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 50 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Woke up in Les Coussoules this morning to cloud and rain :( but the wind had filled in so after a quick stop in La Franqui to try for wi-fi unsucessfully :( Mag and I headed to the wooden pier and the only people there were 5/6 vans with kite buggies just about to go home!!! As it was still raining we had a cuppa and a really nice Belguim sailor - Patrick ( sorry forgot your last name ) came over for a chat :) Then the rain stopped and I had a walk to the edge and with the wind reading 25 mph + rigged the 7m to take out on the longboard to try for Bob Cunninghams record - I just missed out on the max but think I might have got the ave. well I have improved my longboard pb. I had the whole place to myself for over 2 hours, I couldn't believe it for a windy Sunday with nice flat water!!! I was making long runs of just over a mile to a flag I put in the sand a couple of days ago !!! I didnn't get a bad n/mile but wind abit up and down over the longcourse but great fun all the same, I really wanted a 30kt 500m but just missed it again.I stopped for a bite and learned that Pete,Ian and Paul had gone back to Port-la-Nouville.The wind had picked up now gusting over 35 mph but I still couldn't get over 32 kts but not for the want of trying!!! Patrick turned up to sail with 5.6 on a 90 lt board and we had fun together. There were now some kiters and freestylers out so you had to be careful setting out. So after nearly a 100k with the wind dropping I called it a day just as Pete arrived saying Nouville had been abit bumpy :( and he rigged 6.3 on his 80 lt but had missed the best of the wind but tomorrows looking good - fingers crossed I can get the speedboard off !!!
PS - can't believe the poor alpha's as I was doing some really fast gybes !!! the longboard arc must be too big and I am having trouble getting back to 50m perhaps ???? must try harder !!!
